Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the proper way to use commercial mops?

Avoid using the push-and-pull method when mopping your establishment’s floor. This will simply move dust and dirt under your trim and into corners. Mop using the “Figure 8” method instead (forming an “8” on the floor with your mop head) to prevent cross-contamination, reduce strain, and ensure thorough cleaning. Check your mop frequently and switch the mop head if you begin to see dirt and contaminants.

2. Should floors be dried after they’re mopped?

Yes. Once you’ve cleaned your establishment’s floor using an industrial mop and bucket, let the floor dry before allowing anybody to walk on it completely. This may take 20 minutes. Consider using a squeegee to help expedite the drying process. Drying your floor after mopping may help prevent water from damaging the floor, prevent unsightly streaks and watermarks, and reduce slip hazards.

3. Which commercial mops should be utilized in hospitals?

Use microfiber mops for the hospital setting. Microfiber’s unique structure enables it to hold/trap viruses, bacteria, and dirt more efficiently than a traditional mop. That’s because a microfiber mop’s small fibers can easily penetrate a floor’s surfaces. A microfiber mop can also efficiently clean with only water, eliminating the need to use harsh chemicals. Another benefit of microfiber mops is that they are lightweight, making them an ergonomic cleaning solution for your staff.
